Become a Master Negotiator
“You can't solve a problem with the same kind of thinking that created it.” ─ Albert Einstein
It is this same innovative approach that is at the heart of all successful negotiations.
Studies show that today’s professionals spend up to twenty-five percent of their time negotiating and resolving conflicts. Therefore, the success of these professionals rests heavily on developing effective negotiating skills.
In this presentation, you will learn how to come to the table incredibly well prepared in order to negotiate more effectively with the people you work with both inside and outside your organization. You will learn how to resolve conflicts creatively, and to make sure that the message you want to get across is the message received.
By the End of this Presentation You will: |
- Have identified your preferred negotiating style and have more confidence in when to use it and when not to use it.
- Know how to gain a better understanding of the other
person's needs.
- Know when to confront conflict and when to ignore it.

Become a Master Negotiator
Studies show that professionals spend up to twenty-five percent of their time negotiating and resolving conflicts. Therefore, the success of these professionals and the success of their organizations rest heavily on developing effective negotiating skills.
Master Negotiators use the right strategy in the right way, and at the right time. Master Negotiators also have the flexibility to change the strategies and skills that they used in relation to the fluidity of the negotiation process.
For the past twenty years, I have been teaching thousands of people from all walks of life to negotiate more effectively. During this time, I have emphasized repeatedly that negotiation is made up of a symphony of strategies and skills.
During the research and writing of my book, The Seven Strategies of Master Negotiators, and through interviewing 21 Master Negotiators, I have found that this expression is even more valid than I had thought. Over and over again, I have seen Master Negotiators use the right strategy and the right tool, in the right way, and at the right time.
The Master Negotiators that I studied also have the flexibility to change the strategies and skills that they used in relation to the fluidity of the negotiation process. It doesn’t matter if you are negotiating a merger on behalf of a major organization, fundraising, advocating for social justice, or negotiating with your teenage son or daughter about how loud he or she plays their music. We all negotiate and we negotiate all of the time. |
